I’m Josh Withers, a Christian marriage celebrant on the Gold Coast, helping couples create wedding ceremonies that honour God while still feeling personal, relaxed and genuinely enjoyable.

I’ve been marrying people since 2009, and I’ve got a long history with the Gold Coast. I’ve lived here, worked here and married a lot of couples here over the years. I work with Christians from all kinds of faith backgrounds, including Catholic, Pentecostal, evangelical and non-denominational communities.

For me, faith isn’t something we bolt onto your ceremony with a Bible reading and call it Christian. I want to understand what you believe, what marriage means to you, and how you want God acknowledged as you make your promises to each other.

That might mean prayer, Scripture, worship, communion, a blessing, or involving your family, friends or pastor. Or it might be much simpler. Your wedding should reflect your actual faith, not somebody else’s idea of what a Christian ceremony is supposed to look like.

My ceremonies are conversational, relaxed and largely unscripted. I believe marriage is sacred, but sacred doesn’t have to mean stiff or overly formal. Your wedding can honour God while also being joyful, funny, emotional and completely comfortable in its own skin.

I work across the Gold Coast, from the beaches around Coolangatta, Currumbin and Burleigh to the hinterland, Tallebudgera and Tamborine Mountain.
